This is a predominantly Merlot blend, with malbec added for complexity and structure in the Bordeaux style. It's a complex, rich and full bodied wine. Ripe fruit flavours, integrated oak and a long finish makes this wine one of distinction and finesse.
Putiki Bay Vineyard was a small enterprise of 5 Hectacres located on the prime grape growing area of Waiheke Island, but it has now closed its doors. This idyllic coastal site near Auckland was a climate perfect for growing red wine grapes. Their aim was to produce low volume wines of top quality. Their wines were always a huge hit at the Devonport Wine & Food festival.
