Description

Pinot Gris grapes are the white equivalent of Pinot Noir. The wine made from them is Italy's most popular variety (known over there as Pinot Grigio) and is drunk internationally. On offer to you today are three of New Zealand's finest examples of Pinot Gris, at a fantastic 54% off RRP!

Th full bodied Butterfish Bay Pinot Gris 2010 is a medium dry white wine. It is produced in the far north of New Zealand on Paewhenua Island which is a a small peninsula that reaches into the Mangonui Harbour. Named after the breeding grounds of the Butterfish, you will experience the company's obsession with quality at every drop!

The Anchorage Pinot Gris 2011 has aromas of ripe gala apples and white peaches with a hint of passionfruit are soon followed by candied papaya and lychee. Tinge of fresh passionfruit is present along with honey in the mouth. With a pleasant mouth-feel, ample and oily and a finish, this shows sweet papaya nuances in an off-dry style.

The Murray's Road Pinot Gris 2010 is described by Bob Campbell as "Pure Pinot Gris with attractive pear and apricot flavours. A hint of sweetness is nicely balanced by fine tannins leaving an off/dry finish. Well made wine in a delicate style."
