The Black Birch Pinot Gris 2010 is ripe and juicy Pinot Gris from well known ZeroCarbon Marlborough winery Grove Mill. This is a very giving wine overflowing with classic premium Pinot Gris characters of pear and almost Earl Grey tea! Rich, and juicy with hints of sweetness.
The Alexia by Jane Cooper Pinot Gris 2011 palate displays aromas of pear, nectarine and toasted almonds leading to a lingering dry finish. This wine is best enjoyed in its youth but will further develop over the next 4 years. Jane Cooper has made wines in Australia, Chile and Italy as well as New Zealand. It is the Wairarapa that she calls home and this Pinot Gris is a winner vintage after vintage. Its just been released and we love it. The 2010 got 4 stars from Michael Cooper.
The Murray's Road Pinot Gris 2010 is described by Bob Campbell as "Pure Pinot Gris with attractive pear and apricot flavours. A hint of sweetness is nicely balanced by fine tannins leaving an off/dry finish. Well made wine in a delicate style." Murray's Road is a boutique but growing wine label that unsurprisingly hails from Murray's Rd, Spring Creek. The brand began through Marlborough Grape Producers, a close-knit group of growers from the Spring Creek area.
