According to the great tradition of Piedmont Dolcetto wine, despite its name, is a wine-tasting fresh and dry. In tune with modern consumer expectations, is a wine to be drunk young and slightly chilled. A delicious Italian red, and at $12.50 per bottle, an utter bargain (that's 37% off the RRP!)!

Dolcetto is a black Italian wine grape variety widely grown in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. The Italian word dolcetto means "little sweet one", but it is not certain that the name originally carried any reference to the grape’s sugar levels: it is possible that it derives from the name of the hills where the vine is cultivated.In any case the wines produced are nearly always dry. They can be tannic and fruity with moderate, or decidedly low, levels of acidity.

Medium-full bodied, lusciously rich, dark red floral, soft red berry fruit and savoury undergrowth flavours are enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity. This is juicy and energetic, with fine, grainy tannins providing good depth and textural line. Dried herb and mushroomy notes emerge and lead to a dry, firm finish with crisp acidity adding to the length. This is a lush and well-structured Pinot Noir showing some secondary savoury flavours. Match with mushroom-influenced dishes including risotto, pasta and pork over the next 4-5+ years."

The Greenshell South Island Pinot Noir 2010 is bright ruby colour. The nose shows notes of dark cherry fruit and savoury spice. The palate is supple yet juicy with ripe fruit and a soft tannin finish. The cool clean waters of New Zealand's Marlborough Sounds grow some of the world's finest green-lipped mussels. This pure and pristine environment produces the succulent Greenshell Mussel, acclaimed as one of the world's most unique delicacies. Sam Kim of Wine Orbit rated it 4-Stars (under a different label) and said: "Warm and generous, the bouquet shows red/black cherry, spice and subtle game characters. The palate is juicy and smooth with good fruit intensity and a gentle dry finish. A lovely combination of ripe fruit flavours with subtle savoury complexity".

This Stone Bridge Gisborne Pinot Gris 2012 is a Bronze medal winner from The International Aromatic Wine Competition 2012, and was awarded 80/100 by Bob Campbell. The impression of pear on the nose comes though to the palate with abundance. This is also supported with some juicy, green apple and citrus notes and a fresh savoury herbal edge adding complexity. The acidity and sweetness of this wine are beautifully balanced and give the wine an almost sherbet like character that leaves the palate fresh and wanting more.

The Little Black Stone Pinot Gris leads with delicately perfumed with honeysuckle and lemon and lime citrus notes. The palate is of white stonefruit and passionfruit flavours with a touch of honey sweetness and rose that gives way to a lingering finish, and a hint of minerality. Racy, zingy acidity adds a sherbet-like zestiness and lively tension, and contributes to a dry, finely textured and long finish.
