Included in this mixed case of Merlot are two bottles of the Hawkes Bay Estate Merlot 2010, two bottles of the Hay Maker by Mud House Merlot 2011 and two bottles of Alexia by Jane Cooper Hawkes Bay Merlot 09.
The Hawkes Bay Estate Merlot 2010 is a soft, harmonious merlot. Vibrant plum and spice characters are supported by subtle oak influences. A soft, velvety wine, full of fruit and excellent for current consumption. Picked from the Gimblett vineyards. Some oak maturation is blended with the stainless steel fractions to produce this soft, supple easy drinking red.
Ruby red in colour the Hay Maker by Mud House Merlot 2011 is a medium bodied Hawkes Bay Merlot with inviting aromas of plum, cherries, mocha spice and a touch of peppermint. The fruit flavours follow through onto the palate with well structured tannins. A great match with beef and lamb dishes.
The Alexia by Jane Cooper Hawkes Bay Merlot 2009 is a deep brick red colour. Cassis and ripe brambly fruits are supported by a shot of sweet cedary oak. On the palate these dark, ripe fruit characters combine with spicy oak, chocolate and savoury leather flavors. Enjoy with full-flavoured meat dishes and hot seasonal vegetables.
