Off-dry in style this GOLD MEDAL Wairau Hills Marlborough Gewurztraminer 2010 is both aromatic and intense showing aromas of rose petal, turkish delight and hints of citrus. The wine has a gentle acidity and a lingering finish. Wairau Hills produce a range of premium Marlborough varieties that showcase the unique terroir characters and climatic conditions that they are fortunate enough to have in their region.
The Coopers Creek Classic Gisborne Viognier 2008 was awarded Four Stars and Best Buy Cuisine Magazine and SILVER Medal at the New World Wine Awards 2010. It is a is straw coloured with and light gold tints. Stonefruit dominates the nose of this wine; peaches, nectarines, apricots. Mingled with this are floral notes (lemon flower and orange flower) backed by gentle spice notes.
The BRONZE medal winning Kaimira Estate Nelson Brightwater Riesling 2007's fruity characters have given way to the interest and intrigue of bottle development. Lots of toasty notes are present on the nose, but still some gentle lime and blossom in the background. The palate is dry and the acidity has mellowed to give something quite seamless, with the toastiness giving savoury characters that would make this an excellent partner for food (think chicken or pork dishes). Wine Writer Bob Campbell gave it 83 points and said "Rich and creamy Riesling with more weight than many other dry examples. Mineral, lime/citrus and apple flavours dominate."
