Pinot Noir is the most popular red wine in New Zealand so we have decided to introduce to you these three beauties in a 6 bottle case; Wairau Hills Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009, Tranquil Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009, and the Boutique Wairarapa Pinot Noir 2009.
The Tranquil Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009 has a bouquet of black cherry, raspberry and plum with hints of spice and toasty french oak. Ripe black cherry and rich plum flavours dominate the rich, full palate. The wine displays a fruit driven, concentrated yet refined palate with a long refined finish. Tranquil Valley is a family owned winery focused on producing premium quality wines from vineyards in the Matakana and Marlborough regions.
Medium-deep ruby-red in colour, the 4-star Boutique Wairarapa Pinot Noir 2009 has a firm, tightly bound bouquet of fresh dark berry fruits, violets and black pepper, along with spicy oak. Fullish in body, this has an excellent core of intense dark red berry and cherry fruit flavours with fine-grained tannin extraction providing good structure and support. Some oak spiciness contributes interest and the 13.5% alc. warmth adds to the generosity. The wine is very well-proportioned and its harmony lends results in elegance. Match with Asian roast duck dishes over the next 6-8+ years.
The Wairau Hills Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009 is an aromatic yet elegant wine showing aromas of dark berry fruits, cherries and spice, layers of flavour and hints of truffle. Under the guidance of their internationally renowned winemaker, Alan McCorkindale, Wairau Hills produce a range of premium Marlborough varieties that showcase the unique terroir characters and climatic conditions that they are fortunate enough to have in their region. They source only high using quality fruit from specially selected and managed vineyards and use traditional winemaking to capture the essence of Marlborough's vibrant yet elegant wines.
With this mixed pack you will get to try a range of Pinots which is a great way to flex your taste buds, as well as ensuring you have a Pinot Noir to offer everyone who drops by.
